August, the final days of Summer...

August flew by as we started school and celebrated Emma's Birthday.  School started on the 11th and Emma was pretty darn excited.  I was a bit worried about how she would do at 1st grade, however, she's doing great and likes school most days.  Now if we could only figure out how to have a happy morning (she's a grumpy morning person...must get it from her dad, and mom too:)  We like Birthday's around our house and have fun making them special.  I decorated the house up and went to school lunch with her.  Then we checked her out early and went swimming with my family.  That night we went to the Demolition Derby (Davis!) with some friends.  It was a lot of fun but really really long (didn't get home until 11:45, on a school night).  Then she had a friend party a few days later, lucky girl.  Emma can be a sassy little stinker at times, but we love her and can't wait to see her grow into a beautiful young lady.

Only one more thing to note, we're getting carpet right this minute in our basement which means months of hard work are over and we finally have a finished basement!!  So happy to have it done.  Casey worked really hard and it paid off.  We saved a lot of money doing it ourselves and learned a lot of new skills.
